Recent Antishock Trekking Pole Reviews

Wilcor Trekking Poles

First time user of trekking poles. Found these to be easy to operate and fit the bill. Easily adjusted, locking seems secure. Good traction on slippery rock. Easy to use. Full review

Komperdell Highlander Cork Anti-Shock

For a first time buy of trekking poles I think I bought right. I've seen people of all ages using them and just wasn't moved to consider them for myself until now. Being a first time buyer of trekking poles I have nothing to compare them to, save for the copious reviews online, so I researched and chose these. The grip fits my hand comfortably and to test the locks and pole strength I extended them longer than what I'd be using and raised myself off the ground with all my weight on one. It didn't… Full review

KÖPPEN Haltbar

Same problem as mentioned by previous writer; poles would not tighten...just kept turning by hand with no result. Dick's, where I bough them, couldn't help. Referred me to Koppen but no response from them. I give up, will buy another brand. Dennis Zink Webster, NY (585) 746-9465 Full review

Wilcor Trekking Poles

Sturdy with adjustment for every condition and individual. Bought new after using a couple other brands. These are lightweight and fully adjustable. Padded wristbands. Enjoyed using them first time out. Also like the ergonomic hand grip, although I did not think I would. Recommend this product for the avid hiker or the beginner. Money well spent. Full review

Leki Thermolite Aergon XL Antishock

Necasil Walking Poles

Trekking poles are a great addition to your hiking gear. Leki Thermolite Aergon Antishock poles strike the balance between reasonable price and high quality. Until a few years ago, I thought trekking poles were a fad that would soon pass. That was before I bought a pair. Now, I would never backpack with them. One of my first tasks on a multiday hike used to be to find a nice walking stick among the branches that had fallen beside the trail. Sometimes I found a keeper, though not always. Even when… Full review

Lee Valley Telescoping Hiking Stick

My favourite walking stick on trails or on streets! It can be gripped on the foam grip like a nordic walking pole, or the wooden knob can be held in my palm. I like the anti-shock spring. The length can be adjusted quickly. It's also a camera monopod. This walking stick was bought by my spouse as a gift in 2007 and I've used it for ten years. The adjustable length is the best feature! I keep changing it from 'the middle' for walking on city streets, 'longer' when on hiking trails, and 'shorter'… Full review

Black Diamond Trail Pro Shock

All around great product—five stars. These poles are great. Easy to adjust. Great shock absorbers. Great support. Carbon interchangeable tips. Best on the market. Full review

Black Diamond Trail Pro Shock

Best trekking poles I've owned. Locks are secure and don't slip....at all. Great quality. If you're looking for quality trail poles, then look no further. Quality, comfort, and durability—these trekking poles have it all! Once adjusted they stay locked in place without any slipping. Excellent hand grips and wrist straps. The shock system is not too spongy, nice and firm not sloppy. Carbide tips are great. My only complaint is that the replacement rubber tips are very small. But not a deal breaker. Full review

KÖPPEN Haltbar

Antishock Trekking Poles

Threaded insert for length adjustment disintegrated making pole useless. Dick's Sporting Goods won't stand behind its brand. I can't even get a replacement part. Koppen's website customer service referred me to Dick's and Dick's referred me back to them. I bought a set of these poles new at Dick's for $60 about two years ago. The threaded insert failed recently and wouldn't allow the pole to collapse. I continued to use it since it was at the correct height for me. Well, recently the part failed… Full review
