Biden was awarded 306 electoral votes, exceeding the 270 votes needed to clinch victory in the state-by-state Electoral College. He also led in the national popular vote by more than 7 million. In the end, Trump may have lost the popular vote by millions, but he won the Electoral College convincingly with 304 electoral votes to Clinton’s 227.
